Subjects discussed :

1   Opening.

2   Correspondence.

- None.

3   Pecuniary interest .

- None.

4   Assessment/Budget 2003.

- The Secretary presents a list of all cheques issued for BIA expenses in 2002.  He also presents changes that have been made to expense accounts.  In 2003, administration expenses will be divided in two accounts: "Administration" and "Promotion".  (See list of new accounts).

- It is noted that audit costs in the amount of $1,000 are high.  Members ask that the secretary approach the Municipality to see if arrangements could be made in order to reduce these costs.

- The Secretary also presents a "Assessment/Budget 2002".  It is noted that the Municipality has not yet approved the 2002 Budget.

5   Souvenirs and other items sale during the Moose Festival.

- Estelle Mignault, BIA Representative on the Moose Festival Committee, explains that the committee would like that the BIA takes care of the souvenir sale during the 2003 Festival.  The BIA would be responsible to choose, order and sell these souvenirs.  The Festival Committee will apply for a grant, based on BIA recommendations, concerning articles to be sold.  This would not prevent businesses or entrepreneurs to buy and sell these souvernir items, provided that they have the BIA's permission and that the official logo of the Festival is used.

- A student, paid by the Festival, could help in selling these items at a kiosk during the Festival activities.

- Following a brainstorming, some items are proposed: (See list).

6   Storage of Christmas Decorations.

- Gérald Gaudreau reports that he has visited a hangar at the airport, accompanied by Rhéal Gagnon, Public Works Foreman, and the BIA Secretary.  According to Gérald, this hangar would be an excellent place for storage as there is a large wall on which the decorations could be hung.  There is also enough place to store other objects that are presently stored in the BIA warehouse on Hwy 11.  This would help us save more than $1,100 per year.  The owner of the warehouse presently rented by the BIA will be informed that rental will end at the end of February 2003.

- Gérald invites all members to a "bis" to remove wood structures in the actual warehouse.  The "bis" will take place next Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

7   Priorities for 2003.

- In preparation of the 2003 Budget, members have underlined the following priorities (not necessiraly in order):  Parking space downtown (North of Hwy 11 at the corner of Front St. (Esso yard), improve flowers, souvenir sale for the Moose Festival, parking meters cover, music downtown, storage for Christmas decorations.

9   Other Subjects.
