Meetings

This page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive committee meeting, along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

The last BIA executive's monthly meeting was held on January 15, 2009. Here were the subjects discussed:

2		Report of the meeting held on November 6, 2008. - Minutes of the meeting held on November 6, 2008: Prop. By: Gérald G., Supp. By: Isabelle B.;  CARRIED.
3		List of cheques and financial statements. - The list of cheques from October 1st to November 30th, 2008 for the amount of $2,665.62 and from December 1st to December 31st, 2008 for the amount of $6,191.63 as well as current financial statements were submitted for approval. 4		Feedback Midnight Magic. - Members reported that Midnight Magic was a success this year and that merchants were very pleased with the results. There were many people downtown during the night and Santa Claus and Hearst High School choirs were also present. There was a good ambiance and temperature was mild.
5		Hwy 11 Community Improvement Plan. - Discussion on the Hwy 11 Community Improvement Plan. There was a meeting on January 12 at the Curling Club and the project was approved by the C.I.P. committee at their last meeting on January 13.
6		Old downtown brochures. - The old downtown brochures will be destroyed and a new brochure will soon be printed.
7		2009 Budget. - To be verified in February 2009.

9		Other subjects. - Hearst Public Library informed members that they now offered a defibrillator to the public in case of emergency during their regular opening hours. - Members suggested that the OPP be invited to the next BIA annual meeting to discuss things that merchants can do if they witness suspicious activities outside or inside their businesses. - Invitation from the Chamber of Commerce to assist at a public meeting held on Wednesday January 21, at the Hearst University for the project «Ensemble, Réinventons notre ville, c'est une question de survie».
