Meetings

This page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive comittee meeting, along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

February 7th, 2002 - The BIA executive's monthly meeting took place on February 7th, 2002. Here are the minutes from said meeting:

1		Opening. - Prop.: L. Charlebois, Supp.: F. Lecours; Carried.
2		Report on January 10th, 2002 meeting. - Prop.: L. Charlebois, Supp.: F. Lecours; Carried.
3		Correspondance. - Resignation of the BIA President:  Members of the executive accept with regrets the resignation of Mr. Roger Tremblay, member of the executive for the last 4 years and president for the last 2 years. - Request for financial support for a trip to Vietnam:  Members of the executive ask that a congratulations letter be sent to Mr. Plourde.
4		Pecuniary interest. - None.
5		Terraces in the Downtown area. - The Secretary explains that he had reached Mr. Raymond Deschène, of the Commercial Development Society (in Quebec), and that he will send us information and photos of terraces in the town of Rouyn.  Mr. Deschène said that installation of these terraces was a very positive project, that business activity had increased and that he did not receive any complaints.  This project will be included in the 2002 priorities.
6		Credit Line. - The Municipal Council has approved, last Tuesday, that the BIA apply for a $5,000 credit line at the CIBC.
7		Improvements to the web site and contest. - The Secretary presented some examples of improvements made to the BIA web site.  The next step wil be to organise a contest with all merchants in the Downtown area, where participants would have to go visit the BIA site to find clues.  This will help to further promote the BIA's web site.
8		Priorities - capital projects 2002. - The Secretary presented a list of possible capital projects to executive members.  After discussion, members gave priority to some projects in order to present them to the Municipality, as they help finance many of them.  Prop.: G. Gaudreau, Supp.: L. Charlebois; That list of capital projects as presented, be approved for planning.  Carried.
9		Other subjects. - Bannners - "Salon du Livre":  As in 2000, the "Salon du Livre" would like to install 10 banners in the Downtown area. - Financial Report - Santa Claus Express:   A profit of $800 was made this year.  It is suggested that children's gift allocation be increased from $1 to $2.
