Meetings

This page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive committee meeting, along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

The last BIA executive's monthly meeting was held on Thursday February 9th, 2006. Here were the subjects discussed:

1		Opening - Agenda. - The meeting was declared open at 7:40 a.m.  The Agenda was Prop. by: G. Gaudreau, Supp. by: S. Leroux; CARRIED.
2		Reports of the meeting held on January 12th, 2006. - Prop. by: S. Otis, Supp. by: S. Leroux; CARRIED.
3		List of cheques issued between January 1st and January 31st, 2006 and current financial statements.. - The list of cheques issued between January 1st and January 31st, 2006 for the total amount of $2,108.26 was presented for approval.  Prop. by: G. Gaudreau, Supp. by: P. Marin-Carrier.  CARRIED.
4		Budget 2006. - Thérèse, Marc and Mike resumed the last finance committee meeting and informed members that some changes were made to the budget in order to recover the accumulated deficit that now amounts to $7,018.39.  Thérèse presented the 2006 budget and said that cuts were made to the Summer Festival, advertising, office expenses and Christmas promotion amounts.  With these measures, the BIA will be able to recover approximately $5,549.00 on the deficit.  Further to these measures, a request has also been made to the Municipality to exchange free parking days in December against the fees associated with the installation of Christmas decorations.  If this request is accepted by the Municipality, the BIA will be able to recover the remaining portion of the deficit in 2006.  The 2006 budget will be submitted to the Municipality soon for approval.
5		Correspondence. - OBIAA Conference - March 26th - 29th, 2006: Considering the financial situation the BIA is in this year, it was decided not to participate at this conference. - Collectivities in bloom - information sessions: Info. - Graffiti Eradication Seminar - April 25th, 2006: Info.
6		Other subjects. -  Flowers downtown: Gérald reported that it was now time to order flowers to be installed on street lights if we want Mrs. Vandette to install them in time.  Thérèse will call Mrs. Vandette to obtain a quote for the same amount of flower baskets as last year.
7		Adjournment and next meeting. - The meeting adjourned at 8:46 a.m..  Next meeting will be held on March 2nd at 7:30 a.m..
