Meetings

This page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive committee meeting, along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

The last BIA executive's monthly meeting was held on February 12, 2009. Here were the subjects discussed:

1		Opening - Agenda. - The meeting was declared open at 7:37 a.m..  Agenda: - Prop. by: Isabelle B., Supp. By: Gérald G.;  CARRIED.
2		Report of the meeting held on January 15, 2009. - Minutes of the meeting held on January 15, 2009: Prop. By: Gérald G., Supp. By: Sylvie M.;  CARRIED.
3		List of cheques and financial statements. - The list of cheques from January 1st to January 31st, 2009 for the amount of $860.32 as well as current financial statements were submitted for approval. Prop. By: Isabelle B., Supp. By: Sylvie M. CARRIED
4		2009 Budget. - Board members will meet to discuss the 2009 budget as soon as we will have all the expenses for 2008 from the Municipality.
5		OBIAA Conference. - At this time, no one is available to attend the conference. Information concerning the conference will be forwarded to Shana.
6		BIA Brochure. - A committee is formed, small changes were done to the brochure. Less brochures will be printed this time. We will have more printed if necessary.
7		Front Street Improvement Project. - There will be a meeting soon.
8		Correspondence. - OBIAA Conference Agenda & Registration Form - Deadline to register and obtain a reduction is March 31st. - OBIAA Membership Renewal - Prop. 9		Other Subjects. - Chain for the kiosk: Board members accepted Diane's request to have chains installed on the kiosk doors in order to keep the doors from opening too far whenever posters are installed. - Halloween 2009: Following a request for information from the Hearst Public Library concerning Halloween day that will be a Saturday this year, Board members decided that children will be given the chance to trick-or-treat downtown from 2pm to 4pm as usual. - Chamber of Commerce Meeting: Mike reported that, at the last meeting, local buying was discussed. There will be another meeting on the subject in order to launch a campaign on local buying. - Board members discussed about store opening hours and Sunday shopping downtown. - Whereas most businesses downtown are closing around 7pm on Friday night and even sooner, Mike asked that a letter be sent to Claude Laflamme requesting that the Municipality considers offering free parking on Friday nights and Saturday.
