This page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive committee meeting, along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

1   Opening - Agenda.

3   Correspondence.

- Youth Employment Initiatives:  Re: Summer employment services for students; Info.


4   2003 Actuals and 2004 Budget and advertising and Christmas promotion expenses for 2003.

- The Secretary presented revenues and expenses for 2003, the proposed 2004 Budget and details on advertising and Christmas promotion expenses for 2003.  Members took note of these reports.


5   Ice Sculptures Contest.

- Debriefing meeting will be held on Monday April 5th, 2004; Info.


6   Summer Festival 2004.

- Contract with Mr. Jay Cormier and rental of inflatable: Prop. by: G. Gaudreau, Supp. by: L. Charlebois; That the contract with Mr. Jay Cormier for the presentation of 15 street shows for children during the Summer Festival 2004, in the amount of $2,777, including transportation, accommodation and meals, be approved.  Carried.

- As for the inflatable, the Board will try to rent a different one than the ones the Rotary Club will rent the week before.


7   Festival de l'orignal souvenirs sale.

- It was decided to let the Festival de l'orignal take care of the souvenirs sale in 2004.


8 Purchase of flowers for street lamps.

- Mrs. Alice Vandette is offering the same flower arrangements as the previous year and at the same price.  Prop. by: M. Pelletier, Supp. by: L. Charlebois; To authorize the purchase of flowers that will be hung on street lamps downtown as well as flowers to be installed in pots, at the cost of $646 and to authorize the maintenance contract, from mid-June to mid-September, at the cost of $1,100.  We will post tenders for the maintenance of trees and shrubs downtown.


9 Other subjects.

- Annual Meeting:  The Secretary will contact Mrs. Norma Hughes / Howard of Northern Telephone to determine a date in early May where she would be available.  This year, a meal will be served.  Free meals will be drawn among members as door prizes.  The CIBC will provide pens to participants and Justabuck will provide stick notes.

- Summer banners:  Louis and Gérald will order 14 summer banners (expense included in budget).  Board members' commitment: Estelle Migneault ask that members be reminded of their commitment a few days before the event.
