Meetings

This page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive committee meeting, along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

The last BIA executive's monthly meeting was held on April 2, 2009. Here were the subjects discussed:

3		List of cheques and financial statements. - The list of cheques from February 1st to March 31st, 2009 for the amount of $1,278.44 as well as current financial statements were submitted for approval. Prop. By: Gérald G., Supp. By: Sylvie M. CARRIED
4		Final stage. - Final stage of the Community Improvement Plan, presentation has been rescheduled for April 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the Hearst University Amphitheatre.
5		Chamber of Commerce. - Annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, followed by a business forum, on April 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the Legion Hall.
6		BIA Annual Meeting. - The BIA Annual Meeting will be held on May 14, 2009. A guest speaker will be invited to discuss on the Community Improvement Plan in order to inform business owners on new developments.
7		New members. - The Hearst BIA is looking for new members to sit on the Board of Directors.
8		Correspondence. - Town of Hearst - Shana explained her marketing funds program. Members present showed their support for her initiative. - Sustainable-Durable - Presentation on April 30, May 1 and 2, 2009 - "Sommet pour l'avenir de nos enfants" and Info on the workshop "Énergie renouvelable". - Gilles Tremblay, Québec Loisirs: Would like to participate in the Summer Festival. 9		Other Subjects. - Flowers: We are still waiting for Mrs. Vandette's tender. - Free parking on weekends: Mike asked that a letter be sent to Mr. Claude Laflamme requesting that he reconsiders free parking on Friday nights and on Saturdays. - Chamber of Commerce Meeting: Mike reported that, at the last meeting, local buying was discussed. There will be another meeting on the subject in order to launch a campaign on local buying. - Bruno Leduc - Hypnotist: Shana informed members that since Bruno Leduc made a presentation at the Hearst Carnival, he was very harassing and agressive over the phone. She suggested that we think about it twice before hiring him for our Festival. - "Téléthon de l'Avenir": Mike informed members that the "Téléthon de l'Avenir" will be held this weekend and asked that we be generous.
