This page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive comittee meeting, along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

June 27th, 2001 - The BIA executive's monthly meeting took place on June 21st, 2001. Here are the minutes from said meeting.

Subjects to be discussed :
 
1   Opening.

- Agenda : Proposed by L. Charlebois, supp. by M. Wilson - ADOPTED.


2   Pecuniary interests.

- None. 


3   Report on May 17th, 2001 meeting.

- Prop. by C. Brochu, supp. by F. Lecours - ADOPTED if in "Other Subjects", the name of F. Lecours be changed to R. Gratton.


4   Summer Festival Activities - 12th, 13th and 14th of July, 2001. 

- Valérie Vachon, summer intern responsible for organizing the Festival, delinates the activities that are confirmed and others that are still in the planning stages. After discussions regarding publicity, it is recommended that Le Nord publish yet again this year a special booklet to be distributed in Le Nord and in the Weekender (assuming this last approves). 

As for the inflatables, insurances against injuries and vandalism will have to be obtained.

As the question of the storage and transport of the inflatables is brought up, it is decided that these will be put down every night and stored in Gerald Gaudreault's garage.

Other suggestions :

- Valérie asks if there are sufficient balloons;
- The grass in front of businesses will have to be cut;
- Plants will have to be planted in their containers in the Downtown;
- The Maison Verte will be contacted as they have dealt with the Downtown before.


5   Banners with new logo.

- The president explains the problems that have been encountered with the banners, due to discrepancies in color calibration. The banners we have received are not of the right colour, and our vendor (Classic Displays) is ready to make arrangements to reprint the banners at a reduced cost. Prop. by R. Gratton, that the existing banners NOT be put up, and to negotiate a reprint cost with Classic Displays, all the while hoping the new banners will be here and set up in time for the Festival. ADOPTED.


6   Gala Days. 

- The Rotary Club is loooking for sponsors for their inflatables on July 1st.


7   Filles D'Isabelle - Ticket Selling Request

- The Filles d'Isabelle have been contacted to ask that an activity be organised on their part in return for their right to sell tickets during the Festival.


8   Cotton Candy. 

- Mrs. Calawaert will again sell Cotton Candy this year at the Festival. She is asked to position herself near the Kids' Corner.


9   Canuck Circus. 

- The circus will be in town on Labour Day.


10   Meeting Closure. 

- Prop. by R. Gratton, supp. by Mike Wilson, that the meeting be closed at 9h10. ADOPTED.
