page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive committee meeting,
along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said
meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

Annual Meeting
The
last BIA executive's monthly meeting was held on Thursday June 28th,

- The
list of cheques issued between May 1st and May 31st, 2007 in the amount
of $2,750.42 was presented for approval. The financial statements

2007
Annual Meeting.
- Mike
reported that the annual meeting had gone well and that presentations were
very interesting, members think the same thing. The meeting was a
bit long this year due to the fact that the supper began late. |

Summer
Festival.
- Mike
mentioned that Danny Blanchette is interested in helping us during the
Summer Festival. He would be hired for 20 hours a week at $8.50 an
hour. He would be responsible to organize the Show ‘N’ Shine, help
with the variety show and with the other activities scheduled.

be hired as the Summer Festival Coordinator for the summer of 2007.
CARRIED
- Patricia
reported that Suzanne Gaudreault was willing to help with the variety show
again this year and that she would also like to organize something for
kids during the day. Brenda will call Mario Villeneuve to get more
information on the “bike show” and to know if he has any news about Neil
of Bistro Ailleurs. A committee for the Festival is formed by most
of the executive directors. One member suggested to distribute a
newsletter to all merchants inviting them to give us their suggestions
or ideas for the festival. Michel suggested to ask Nord-Aski to hire
a summer student for more hours each summer and have the student work for
the downtown festival. |

Purchase of new benches.
- Diane distributed the quote received
from Toronto Fabricating for the purchase of new benches. Prices
have gone up by $270.00 since 2005. Members agreed to buy three new

THAT three new benches be ordered from Toronto Fabricating.

Advertising Committee.
- Mike informed members that some
merchants met under the direction of Estelle Mignault in order to find
ideas to bring life to the downtown area. As an example: For
July 1st, we have distributed a Newsletter inviting all merchants to display
colours or flags representing Canada on Canada Day. |

asked that Diane send a letter to the Municipality asking that they nominate
Sylvie Mousseau as director of the BIA Executive Committee.

asked that the web site be updated with new information. |

Adjournment
and next meeting.
- No
regular meeting has been scheduled for July, but special meetings will
be held (one on July 5 at 7:30 a.m. at Euphoria) to discuss the organization
of the Summer Festival. The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 a.m. |
