Report
on the 2005 Summer Festival.
- Mila
Branco, Coordinator of the 2005 Summer Festival presents the financial
statement of the festival and informs members that the festival has made
a deficit of $864.16 this year. She also gives out a questionnaire
to all members asking them to fill it out and give their ideas and opinions
of this edition of the festival. The questionnaire can be brought
back to CommunicAction.
- Daniel
Sigouin informs members that he received many comments concerning the festival
and says that most people did not like the fact that stores were closed
on Friday night. He also says that the objective of the festival
was to bring people downtown and not to direct them somewhere else.
Other members also received the same comments. |

New
benches and tree guard.
- We
have finally received the two benches and the tree guard that were ordered
a while ago. They are presently stored at l'Atelier des Pionniers'
warehouse. Mike suggested to ask Réal Gagnon and his team
to install the tree guard, as it was supposed to be their responsibility
to maintain the BIA infrastructures. Thérèse will take
care of it. |

CINN-FM
Radio.
- Request for donation for the
Radiothon: Members think that it is each business' responsibility to
make a donation.
- Bingo ball: Daniel Sigouin
suggested to take the bingo ball at the cost of $60 in partnership with
the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development. This would
reduce the cost to $20 each. The person responsible for the promotion
at CINN-FM will be contacted regarding this.
- "Lotto épicerie" (early
bird): Sylvie Gauthier, of the CINN-FM radio, would like to know if
the BIA will still be participating in this year's draw of the "Lotto épicerie"
by contributing the $500 early bird draw. Members are willing to
continue this tradition if the radio can offer free promotion for BIA activities. |
