Meetings

This page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive committee meeting, along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

The last BIA executive's monthly meeting was held on Thursday October 2, 2008. Here were the subjects discussed:

1		Opening - Agenda. - The meeting was declared open at 8:00 a.m..  Agenda: - Prop. by: Isabelle B., Supp. By: Marc D.;  CARRIED.
2		Report of the meeting held on September 11, 2008. - Minutes of the meeting held on September 11, 2008: Not available.
3		List of cheques and current financial statements. - The list of cheques issued between September 1st and September 30th, 2008 for a total amount of $1,541.08 as well as financial statements as of September 30th were presented for approval.  Prop. By: Gérald G., Supp. By: Sylvie M.  CARRIED
4		Halloween. - Diane showed the poster that she had made to send to all businesses for Halloween. All members approved of the poster. A larger poster will be made for the kiosk. One member suggested to also do a press conference.
5		Street Lamps Decoration Contest. - A first draft done by Patricia was submitted to members. Members think that, since street lamps are not safe, they should not be decorated and suggested that parking meters in the municipal parking lot and on Prince Street be decorated instead and keep those on George Street for businesses that wish to participate in the contest. They also think that prizes are too high and suggested the following prizes instead: 1st prize - $75, 2nd prize - $50 and 3rd prize - $25. The remaining amount could be used for the Christmas draws. This item will be discussed further at the next meeting in November.
6		CINN-FM Radio. - CINN-FM Radio requested a donation of $500 from the BIA towards the Early Bird of their Lotto Épicerie draw. Members approved to donate the $500 unanimously.
7		Christmas Decorations. - Gérald reported that he will need help on Sunday November 2nd for the repair and verification of Christmas decorations.
8		Correspondence. - OBIAA Conference 2009: Info. - Ripple Effects LTD (sent to all businesses) - Information Session on available programs and services for businesses (sent to all businesses) - Downtown Idea Exchange (Membership): Denied.
9		Other Subjects. - Gérald reported that another meeting was held for the Community Improvement Plan. Phase 2 is now ongoing and plans were submitted. - Marc questioned the amount of $11,890.40 in the budget under the item "July Promotion" (Diane will provide him with explanations at the next meeting).
