Meetings

This page will contain the minutes of the BIA's last executive committee meeting, along with the agenda of the upcoming meeting a few days prior to said meeting. Meetings are held every first Thursday of the month.

The last BIA executive's monthly meeting was held on Wednesday November 28, 2007. Here were the subjects discussed:

1		Opening - Agenda. - The meeting was declared open at 7:45 a.m.  Agenda: - Prop. by: Gérald G., Supp. by: Isabelle B.;  CARRIED.
2		Report of the meeting held on November 7th, 2007. - Minutes of the meeting held on November 7th, 2007.  Prop.  by: Gérald G., Supp. by: Patricia M.C.  CARRIED.
3		List of cheques and current financial statements. - The list of cheques issued between October 1st and October 31st, 2007 for a total amount of $1,722,84 as well as financial statements as of October 31st were presented for approval.  Prop. by: Marc D., Supp. by: Isabelle B.  CARRIED
4		Midnight Magic. - The Hearst High School choral is still to be confirmed with Angèle Fortin and Santa Claus for Midnight Magic is also to be confirmed with Mona Habel.  We will ask Le Nord to take pictures on Friday night.
5		Santa Claus Express. - All Santa Claus Express passes have already been distributed.  Children will receive a Christmas head band and chocolate calendar on the express.  Water bottles will be offered by Independent and Foodland and plasticine will also be offered by Centre de garde.  Mrs. Annette Jacques from Samaritain du Nord has already picked-up the food from all stores and a picture has been taken by Le Nord.
6		Santa Claus at the Public Library. -  Diane reported that she has yet to find someone to impersonate Santa Claus on December 16th.  She will ask Shana to check with Marc Dupuis to see if he would be interested.
7		Correspondence. - OBIAA Conference, from April 6 to 8, 2008 in Collingwood:  Marc D. is interested to participate.  Information about the conference will be sent to merchants. - Capstone Communication Group (Company that has designed our logo): The company who designed our logo has put the logo on their website as a demonstration of the work they can accomplish. - FedNor and Nord-Aski Economic Development: There will be a consultation meeting on francophone communities on December 6.  No members wish to participate.
8		Other subjects. - A letter of resignation was received from Sylvie Otis stating that she no longer wished to sit on the BIA Executive.  A thank you letter will be sent to Mrs. Otis. -  Letter regarding Community Transportation donation: It was decided to send the letter already drafted. -  New businesses downtown: Venus moved into Pure Esthétique location, Coup d’Oeil moved at 814 George, formerly Centre du Coupon and Gérald reported that a new hair salon, “Cuticles”, moved into his building next to the jewelry store, with Mona Gauthier as the owner.  A welcome card will be sent to these new businesses.
