2002
Budget Estimate.
- As
per these estimates, the BIA is going towards a $2,000 deficit for 2002,
this is mostly due to the fact that the municipality has withdrawn its
financial contributions on some items. Members discuss strategies to convince
the municipality to continue bringing financial help on common beautification
projects downtown and autorise that funds be taken out of the parking fund
for the maintenance of the kiosk and trees and shrubs in the parking lot
downtown. Daniel Lemaire will schedule a meeting with the municipality
in January 2003. |

Christmas
Decorations .
- Gérald
Gaudreau informs members that, by February 2003, we have to find a good
place to store the new Christmas decorations. Concillor Brochu, before
leaving the BIA, had suggested to use the airport garage. A second option
would be to use a garage in the Public Works yard that has been purchased
from the hospital, and that seem unused. A third option would be to remove
all wood structures in our present storage and install hooks on the walls
in order to hang decorations. The Secretary will analyse these three options.
-
The new decorations and those restored are "Fantastic". |

Santa
Claus Express 2002.
- Rosanne
says that this year's activity has been very successful. 350 children travelled
to Mattice. We have obtained excellent cooperation from the Hearst firefighters,
who were responsible for security. The "CINN Goblins" have also helped
a lot. We must not forget the Rotary Club and the CIBC for their generous
donations. The Chamber of Commerce (Francis Bouchard) has helped a lot
to organise the activity and the ACR for the train. |
