Revised
2001 Budget and restoration of street lamps: loan application and municipality's
contribution.
- The
President explans that there was only one quote received for this work,
that of Rick's Welding. Four entreprises had been approached. Quote is
for $525 each street lamp.

__________, Supp. __________. That, on top of the 12 street lamps painting,
a request be submitted to the Municipality for a contribution estimated
at $9,100 for the restoration of all street lamps (black 26) in the Downtown
area and that the Municipality loans the necessary money to finance the

Advertising
from the Timmins Mall on CINN.
- Ads
inviting the Hearst population to shop in Timmins was aired on the CINN
radio
station. Local merchants stressed out that it was not appropriate for a
community radio to air advertisement encouraging shopping outside the community
and they voiced their concerns to the direction of CINN. The Manager, Michèle
Leblanc, wished to meet the BIA Board concerning this issue. The Board
is willing to support a letter from local merchants but do not see the
advantage of meeting with the CINN Manager. |

- After
discussion on the upcoming meeting between the Municipality and the BIA
concerning downtown parking, the Board ask that the President and Secretary
prepare a strategy to be presented to the Municipality at the said meeting. |
